Luke: Class of 2010

Luke is really into photography, so we got along just fine during his senior portrait session.   He’s also plays guitar, so he brought it along on the shoot.

Courtney + Rickey = Married!

I spent most of my high school days in the photo darkroom, so when I (reluctantly) went to my 10 year high school reunion I didn’t even know if anyone would remember me =)  I sort of dreaded going, but I decided to attend anyway.  It was fun to see where people’s lives had taken them in the past 10 years.  Rickey was a former high school classmate and I remember him as being super nice with a smile for everyone he met.  When I ran into him at the reunion, I was glad to see that hadn’t changed.  One thing that had changed, however, was that he was engaged.  I gave him my business card and I was delighted when his fiance emailed me  later to ask about wedding photography.  Over the course of their wedding planning, I got to know a little bit more about their story and was amazed at the path that led them to each other…

Rickey and Courtney live in Arizona now, but they are from Indiana and both graduated from Purdue.  Rickey remembers noticing a pretty girl sitting in the lecture hall of one his Purdue classes, but he didn’t approach her.   They didn’t meet until fate interceded and they both wound up working in Arizona after graduation, leading their separate lives.  Their paths crossed again when they met through a mutual friend in Arizona and learned of their shared alma mater.  Rickey tried telling Courtney that he thought they had been in a class together at Purdue, but she was pretty sure that was just a pick up line =)  Luckily, the pick up line must have worked, because Rickey and Courtney could not be a cuter couple.  =)

Courtney’s makeup was done at Vanis Salon & Day Spa and Studio 46390 took care of her hair.

The ceremony was held at First Baptist Church in Valparaiso

The adorable flowergirl and ringbearer did a fine job handing out the bubbles after the ceremony.  They were also great at posing for photos, as you can see.

The reception was held at Strongbow Inn and they make really lovely (and tasty!) cakes.

First dance.

No, the party didn’t get so out of control that the Rickey got cuffed…That’s just his best man, Bob, making the garter toss a little more complicated.

Rickey and Courtney, thank you so much for allowing me to document your wedding day!  Y’all are fabulous and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!!

Alisha + Casey= Married!

Alisha and Casey are amazing together.  I knew this about them already from their engagement session and their wedding just further proved that point.

Their wedding day started at Tanglz N Bangz where Alisha works as a hair stylist.  Alisha had mentioned to me during the wedding planning process that she planned to do most of her bridesmaids’ hair on the wedding day.  I laughed at this, of course, as I assumed she was joking.  I knew that on my own wedding day, my hands would have been too shaky to even pick up a comb, let alone a hot iron.  Alas, when I showed up at the salon on the morning of her wedding day, I learned she  wasn’t kidding.  She was hard at work, even as she got her own hair done!  That’s dedication!!

The fabulous Morgan Alsop was the makeup artist for the day:

Loving the shoes!!

Stunning bride:

These girls were so much fun!  (Note the fanastic looking hair! =)  )

Casey getting ready:

Little Mr. Dapper ringbearer

The ceremony was held at Dayton United Methodist Church

This photo makes me giggle because it reminds me of Runaway Bride.  It’s important to note that she wasn’t running away, merely running towards the outdoor photo location!

Lovely details at their reception at University Plaza Hotel.    Alley Flowers  did a beautiful job with the flowers.

A shot of their photo guest book which I was so excited to make for them!

Nana’s Happy Tears made a delicious and beautiful cake!

First dance

Casey and Alisha’s group of guests were not shy about getting on the dance floor.  You could feel the energy in the reception hall and I loved it.  Look at how full the floor got (and they were just getting started!)

Alisha and Casey– I wish you two much happiness in your life together!

Special thanks to my assistants Jesse and Megan for all your help!

AJ at 2

Last fall, I was able to photograph a little guy who was an old friend.  We go way back… back to when AJ was one.  At that photo shoot, he was fairly content to stay wherever his mommy sat him for a photo.  Now that he’s two, all that’s changed.  He’s grown so much and he is on the GO!  (But still as cute as ever!)

Kourtney and family

When Kourtney contacted me to photograph her family, I was very excited.  It turns out that I had photographed Kourtney’s sister’s wedding, so we had met before.  She also has an adorable family and I was happy to spend an afternoon at the park with them.
